On Sustainable House Day – Sunday October 17th 2021, 10am to 4pm – come and visit Christie Walk. This unique urban community of 27 dwellings includes apartments, standalone strawbale houses, and townhouses.
Sustainable design features include:
- passive solar design
- photovoltaic cells with battery storage
- solar hot water – flat plate and evacuated tubes
- underground stormwater storage
- community spaces – meeting room, laundry, bike shelter, produce garden, roof garden
Christie Walk was purpose-built as a model ecocity development. It’s designed to showcase how biodiversity, low emissions and community-living can be fashioned into a vibrant and verdant inner-city development.
Come and wander around Christie Walk. QR codes around the village will allow you to experience virtual house tours. You’ll also be able to access short videos on the sustainable features of the development.
The event is free and no bookings are required.
