Education
To facilitate the exchange of information about the evolution of human settlements towards more ecological integration.
To inform policy makers, researchers, planning and design professionals, students and the general public about the need to transform human settlements into Eco-Cities and to educate them on ways that this can be undertaken.

To undertake, sponsor and encourage research to be carried out in relation to the evolution of ecologically integrated human settlements.
Advocacy
To provide an independent, community-based focus for advocating and coordinating action to transform existing human settlements in the direction of ecological integration, health, social vitality and equity.
