Urban Ecology Australia advocates, supports and initiates EcoCity Projects which include:

Christie Walk EcoCity Project

A groundbreaking ecological community housing development in the heart of Adelaide, which includes townhouses, strawbale cottages and apartments.

Halifax EcoCity Project

An AUD $60m ecological development proposal for a 2.7 hectare, ex-industrial site in the heart of Adelaide, South Australia. Find out what happened (and didn't happen!).

Research Projects

Urban Ecology Australia has proposed or is undertaking a number of research projects on topics such as bioregions, building materials, ecocommunities, urban development, and retrofitting suburbia.

Sustainable Cities Publication

UEA is currently developing a publication that addresses the question: What is a sustainable city, and how do we get there?

Shadow Plans

UEA has developed a set of Shadow Plans of the Tandanya Bioregion, which shows how Adelaide could be transformed over the next 150 years into a series of compact urban centres set within a network of green corridors.

Green Maps

The first Green Map in the southern hemisphere was launched in Rundle Mall, Adelaide as part of World Environment Day celebrations on 5 June 1998.
