Perth is one of the most car dependent cities on Earth. For a more liveable, sustainable future we need to provide access for people and products in a way that has much less impact on the community. More walking, cycling and public transport; less car use. More rail freight; less road freight. Lower impacts by heavy truck traffic. Safer streets and stops - lower traffic speeds and better security. Less oil dependence; cleaner, renewable energy for transport. Transport impacts reflected in investment decisions and the costs users pay. More integrated and inclusive planning, involving the community and linking land use and transport.
