Solar Cities

The Solar Cities trials aim to demonstrate the economic and environmental costs and benefits of the mass installation of solar energy technology, energy efficient measures and smart meters on electricity supply and demand profiles and infrastructure needs. Barriers to solar generation and demand side participation in grid-connected urban areas will be addressed. Technologies and demand side measures will be appropriately priced and valued to support their commercial uptake in an evolving energy market.
